Body Elite, Inc. founder and President Stephen M. Vassallo is a certified personal trainer. He has completed his studies in Biology at DeSales University and has been weight training since 1986. He founded Body Elite in 2000 and throughout his 17 years of personal training Steve has developed the patented Body Elite style in which the gym is known for. His unique blend of strength training modalities and a fast paced intensity has gotten BE clients the results they want.
Mark Radio has been with BE for 6 years. He is the manager, exercise physiologist, and nutritional counselor at BE. He is certified through AFPA as a nutritional counselor, a certified personal trainer through ACSM and has a BA in Exercise Science from Bloomsburg University. He was awarded best personal trainer by the Morning Call's Reader Choice Awards. He puts an emphasis on postural strength, mobility, and conditioning.
Working into his second full year at BE Alex Brown has developed a great reputation among the BE members. Alex graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a Masters degree in Exercise Science Concentrating in Sport and Exercise Conditioning in 2016. He has a background of playing football, basketball and track and field in high school along with playing football at East Stroudsburg University in 2012. In his spare time in college he volunteered with the ESU football team and wrestling team. He also interned with EXOS of summer 2016 working with the general population, middle school athletes to college athletes along with working with the military. He also interned with Lehigh University summer 2014, where he got a better insight of speed and agility training along with training high school and college athletes.
Laurie Zerfass has been a dedicated BE trainers for 6 years. With a Bachelor’s degree in Health, Behavior, and Exercise Sciences, Laurie graduated from the University of Delaware while concentrating on Fitness Management and Strength and Conditioning. Her passion for fitness and health stems from a background in sports, playing soccer at all levels including high school varsity, elite club teams, and at the collegiate level. Infusing her love for soccer into a career, Laurie has experience in sports conditioning, functional training, weight management, and nutrition.
Sean graduated from Kutztown University in December 2015 with a degree in Sport Management and is a CPT through the American Council on Exercise (ACE). He is a competitive powerlifter and record holder in the state of PA. Sean loves to share his knowledge with clients and helps to push them. He believes that everyone is capable of greatness and that as long as someone creates goals and stays committed to them, they can be achieved. He states that the reason he got involved with personal training is, “The fact that I’ve been able to achieve my own goals and see progress in my own life inspired me to be a personal trainer. Seeing my client’s lives change is what pushes me forward. I want to see my clients succeed. When they do, so do I. I will do anything to help them out.”
Robert Fatz is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with over 12 years experience in the field. He works with all individuals from professional athletes down to the average person looking to better themselves. Rob is among a select number of elite trainers in the region certified as a Functional Movement Screen specialist, Level 2. The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) tool analyses movement patterns to identify faulty or compensatory movements that may lead to injury. His expertise has been sought for Healthy You magazine, a publication of Lehigh Valley Health Network and other publications. He has presented and co-presented at national and regional fitness conferences on sports performance and fitness. Fatz is a graduate of West Chester University of Pennsylvania where he received his Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in exercise science.
James joined Body Elite in April 2011, has completed his studies in Kinesiology: Exercise Science from Liberty University. He is a certified personal trainer through the ASCM (American College of Sports Medicine) as well as obtained his CSCS(sports specific, certified strength and conditioning specialist) through the NSCA. James is a year and a half into DeSales University Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program. The knowledge he gains there makes him a better trainer daily.
