EASY ON THE OIL

For years you’ve heard it. Olive oil is the saving grace of everything health related. Now the fad oil seems to be coconut oil or even avocado oil. Olive oil is indeed heart healthy and contains vitamin E and flavonoids and many other healthy elements, but many use it indiscriminately when cooking and dressing their salads.

Low fat diets are kind of BS. Calories in versus calories out do matter though! Olive oil is pure fat and contains 120 calories per tablespoon. Calorie speaking you’d be better off cooking food in chocolate sauce.

Please continue to use olive oil or your new favorite “health” oil, but please measure out how much you are actually using! Or else you're may add 300-400 calories to your food before you've even started cooking it.
